Stage gauze is an important accessory for stages. The mesh fabric combines many important properties that are essential for a trouble-free performance.

Stage gauze: best properties for the perfect stage experience

Gauze is a very special fabric that is ideal for outdoor stage use. The mesh fabric with fine meshes is very light and yet has a high opacity. For stage cladding, as a privacy screen or as a curtain, the fabric has become indispensable in event and stage technology as well as in trade fair construction.

Our quality stage gauze is made of high density polyethylene. This is known for its strong resistance to various chemical, thermal and mechanical influences. These include its color fast property, chemical and UV resistance, elasticity and high impact resistance. The fine but tough PE fibers are woven into a durable mesh fabric. The air permeability of the meshes of approx. 2 × 1 mm is around 22%, i.e. just under a quarter. However, the material is not only durable, but also particularly light. The fabric weighs just 200 g per square meter. Thanks to its black color, the gauze cladding is the ideal accessory for Naxpro-Truss stages with flat roof, pitched roof or arched roof stages. The all-round edge reinforcement is perforated with eyelets every 50 cm, so that you can conjure up an evenly flat, tear-resistant and attractive stage finish in just a few steps. Just as quickly as our stages and other truss constructions are set up, the gauze sheathing is also attached.

Light and air as you need it

The fine texture of the gauze ensures adequate airflow on stage and is slightly wind-permeable. However, rain - even in a heavy downpour - is safely kept away from the stage and the sensitive technology. The fabric is slightly translucent, so the stage is not completely sealed off from the outside. However, it provides enough shade to prevent harmful UV rays from damaging the equipment or glaring sunlight from obstructing the actors on stage. From a distance of approx. 8 m, the covering is also absolutely opaque, so that curious glances from the side don't stand a chance. Another important factor: even if things get very hot on stage - gauze made of polyethylene is flame-retardant in accordance with DIN 4102.

Wind permeability for stage accessories?

A stage can be sealed off all around with a thick tarpaulin. But what is the consequence? Performers in action sweat under the spotlight, air circulates poorly, equipment gets hot. Our stage gauze offers more user-friendly properties: Its air and wind permeability not only ensures better oxygen supply on stage and natural cooling. Especially in the outdoor area, the weather is a factor that should never be underestimated. Thanks to its fine-meshed mesh, the gauze keeps rain off the stage and equipment. When the wind is allowed to pass through the mesh in a controlled manner, it has less surface to attack. So the potential from wind damage to an open-air stage is significantly minimized by this accessory.
