"What kind of power do you need?" is a question that event technicians often ask musicians, DJs and other performers. After all, very few gigs can get by entirely without electrical power. Spotlights and loudspeaker boxes as well as amplifiers, screens and various other devices can only be operated with the necessary power. This requires a flexible, safe and powerful power distributor that distributes the energy from the source to the technology.

What exactly does the power distributor do?

Many people know it from their own households: If there are not enough power outlets available, they quickly reach for a power strip to which several devices can be connected at the same time. The power distributors for the stage work according to a similar principle. Depending on the event, various elements are used, which in turn requires numerous sockets. To make things even more complicated, the various parts sometimes require different connections. This is where a power distributor comes into play, ensuring a reliable power supply at every location.

Power distributor for alternating and three-phase current

The familiar household AC current flows out of the socket at 230 volts, and that is completely sufficient for private use. Professional use, however, requires a bit more juice. Once the numerous spotlights, loudspeakers and amplifiers start to add up, you will quickly push the classic Schuko socket to its limits. So-called CEE power distributors provide additional power. They provide not only the single-phase alternating current, but also the three-phase current with a mains voltage of 400 volts. Such variants can take significantly higher loads and accordingly allow the connection of several devices. Depending on whether you are looking for a solution for private use or for large events, you can get different models from us. You can choose from power distributors with:

• 16 amp and 230 volt
• 16 amps and 400 volts
• 32 amp and 400 volt
• 63 amps and 400 volts

The values refer to the input current in each case. From model to model, current outputs are available, which differ in type and number. In this way, you can find a suitable power distributor that optimally covers your needs. In addition to the classic Schuko sockets, we also offer variants with inputs and outputs for Power-Con. This is a proprietary cold appliance plug for the power supply of devices with single-phase alternating current with current strengths of up to 20 or 32 amperes. The plug is often used in stage technology - among other things because of its protection against contact and locking against accidental disconnection.

Power distributor - stationary, mobile or outdoor

Where do you want to use your new power distributor? Depending on the answer to this question, different models come into question. You can choose between stationary devices with a compact and robust design or mobile power distributors, which are characterized by their lightweight and highly break-resistant housings. The latter are also popular on construction sites, in the trades or at the campsite. If you are looking for a model for outdoor use, you should keep an eye on the IP protection class. It provides information about the influences the device can withstand. The first digit describes the protection against foreign objects and the second the protection against water. IP20 has established itself as the standard for indoor use, but for outdoor use you should choose a power distributor with IP44 or higher.
