Belt drive or direct drive

Record players are generally differentiated between those with a belt drive and those with a direct drive. A belt-driven record player is driven via a drive belt connected to the motor. The motor is attached to the edge of the base plate. A turntable that is driven directly by a motor located underneath is referred to as a direct drive. The desired speed can therefore be achieved without delay and the turntable moves freely, when the motor is switched off.

DJ record player

DJ record players are significantly more robust and resilient than devices for private use. Most DJ record players come with direct drive, which is compensated by an electronic runtime adjustment. They often come equipped with Bluetooth for wireless connections with Bluetooth-capable active speakers, amplifiers or headphones. A stepless speed adjustment allows the blending over from one piece of music to the next. Our super robust record players with scratch function can be used for generating sounds by rhythmically moving a running record back and forth, while the stylus is on the record. The high-quality cinch jacks have a low contact resistance, which means a better sound quality.
